Want to get more involved with the North Clackamas Watersheds Council? Volunteer as a Watershed Ambassador at community events throughout the spring and summer! Help us build deeper connections with communities throughout our watersheds, and share valuable information about watershed health, recent research, volunteer and education opportunities with the Council, and more.

Watershed Ambassadors support the Council at multiple levels throughout the season – providing support at stewardship events and workshops, and tabling at local community events.

Becoming a Watershed Ambassador is easy! Participate in a 2 hour training to get up to date on the latest from the North Clackamas Watersheds Council and learn about how you can help represent our organization at local events. We table at fun community events all spring and summer, including the Milwaukie Earth Day, the NCPRD Pollinator Celebration, the Oak Grove Festival and more! We also host a variety of events throughout the season, including the Kellogg Creek BioBlitz, streamside restoration workshops, community science trainings and more. During the training you will learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities, and we will go over the logistics of being a Watersheds Ambassador, like how to sign up for events, typical tabling materials, and coordinating with other volunteers.

Watershed Ambassador volunteers:

  • Provide support at 2-4 events per season (April – August)
  • Share information with community members on watershed restoration, community science, environmental education and volunteer opportunities with the North Clackamas Watersheds Council
  • Be an advocate for healthy watersheds – answer questions and share ways individuals can support healthy creeks and rivers
  • Assist with event set up, volunteer check-in, and logistics for larger Council events

Training 2026: March 28th, 10 am – Noon at Milwaukie Presbyterian Church (2416 SE Lake Rd, Milwaukie, OR, 97222)
