Propagating Native Plants

Propagation is the process of creating new plants from a parent plant, either by collecting seeds or cutting pieces from branches or roots. Propagation can be a low cost way to start off your restoration project.

Want to try propagating native plants in in your yard?

We recommend using this Guide for Using Willamette Valley Native Plants Along Your Stream from Linn Soil and Water Conservation District and South Santiam Watershed Council.

Finding a Qualified Contractor for Your Project

Choosing a qualified contractor to work in sensitive habitats, such as a wetland, stream, or riparian, can be a difficult for property owners who are new to restoration and want to make the best choices for our rivers and streams.

We have developed a list of contractors with experience working in streamside areas who have been referred to us by our organizational partners. Note that this list is not comprehensive and we will continue adding to it as we learn about restoration contractors doing great work in Clackamas County.

We recommend contacting them directly learn more about their availability for your streamside project.
